Yohji Yamamoto´s mastery of menswear by Marc C O´Flaherty

"You think my clothes are expensive? More expensive than what!? The fashion industry is walking off the edge of a cliff. People want to pay nothing for clothes, and throw them away quickly. I hate that. We keep on making our work by hand, and the human hand has become the most expensive thing in the world. These clothes take a long time to create. The price of my merchandise might not be cheap, but it’s… reasonable.”

This quote is from one of the greatest designers of modern avant-garde fashion, Yohji Yamamoto. He talks to Mark C O’Flaherty about his striking collection and why he’ll never fall out of love with black.
